NewZNew (Bathinda) : Taking a pro-people initiative the Suwidha Centers have started providing stamps to people thereby mitigating their harassment and providing them stamps in air-conditioned set up at the centers that already provides 41 services under the same roof. Besides this, the court fees tickets and receipt tickets can also be had from the Suwidha Centers. Starting the distribution of stamps Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today visited the Suwidhas Center Bathinda and took view of the service.
The Deputy Commissioner said that besides Suwidha Center at Bathinda, the stamps will also be provided at Talwandi Sabo and Rampura Phul sub-divisions. He said that stamps worth Rs 2.25 lacs were received from the district treasury office of which Rs 1.22 lacs stamps have been distributed. Keeping in view the demand of people, Rs 5 lacs worth more stamps have been issued from District Treasury Office of which Rs 3 lacs stamps have been given to Suwidha Center Bathinda and Rs 1 ;acs each stamps have been distributed to Talwandi Sabo and Rampura Phul sub-divisions. He said that people can get stamps from the concerned sub division.
Mr Sharma said that the Suwidha Centers have stamps of denomination 25, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000. Besides stamps people can also get court fees tickets and receipt tickets. He added that the Punjab government was making consistent efforts to provide relief to the common man for which sewa kendras were also being opened in villages under Unified Services Delivery Scheme..
He added that the Suqidha Center at Bathinda has been revamped at a cost of Rs 70 lacs that the Minister for Food processing Industry, Government of India, Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal had inaugurated on May 21. It covers 6500 sq yards of area and provides 41 services under one roof.
Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure that people do not suffer and any kind of lackadaisical approach would not be tolerated. SDM Bathinda Mr Damanjit Singh Mann and Suwidha Center in-charge Jaswinder Singh were also present
