Punjab De Sher becomes Champions of the Celebrity Cricket League Season 11: Punjab De Sher emerged victorious in the 11th edition of the Celebrity Cricket League, clinching the championship, after a dominant performance in the final against Chennai Rhinos, held at Karnataka State Cricket Association Ground in Mysuru.
The final saw Punjab De Sher beat Chennai Rhinos comprehensively by eight wickets.
In an exciting face-off, Punjab De Sher, under the captaincy of Harrdy Sandhu, restricted Chennai Rhinos to a modest total of 89/5 in the first 10 overs, in the first inning. In response, Punjab De Sher batted clinically, with Rahul Jaitly scoring a solid 43 off 29 balls and Babbal Rai contributing 40 off 24 balls. Punjab De Sher finished at 103/1, taking a 14-run lead over Chennai Rhinos.
In the second innings, Chennai Rhinos were restricted at 85/6, setting a target of only 72 runs. Punjab De Sher chased the target easily, in just 8 overs, with a loss of two wickets. Opener Anuj Khurana played a brilliant knock, scoring 40 off 23 balls, leading the team to victory.
With sterling performance throughout the season, Punjab De Sher Captain Harrdy Sandhu was awarded the “Player of the Series”. A master in under-pressure performance, Jassies Gill became the “The Best Bowler” for his unmatched bowling skill. Suyyush Rai was the standout performer, claiming three crucial wickets and earned the “Man of the Match” award. Rahul Jaitly claimed “The Best Batter” award for his power-packed performance.
