NewZNew (Chandigarh) : A state level functional will be organized on the occasion of International Day of People with Disability at Karnal on December 3, 2014. While giving information on this, an official spokesman said that Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar would be the guest of honour. On the occasion, the Minister would honour talented children with disability who participated in various categories of competitions. Cultural programme would also be presented by children, he added.
He said that Social Justice and Empowerment department has been implementing important schemes for the welfare, upliftment and rehabilitation of children with disability. He said that the state government was giving pension, scholarship and unemployment allowance to children with disabilities, besides giving financial assistance to those who do not go to school.
