Two days Annual Sports Meet of Shemrock Senior Secondary School kick started Sports Complex Sec.46, Chandigarh. Lieutenant General Kamal Jit Singh, PVSM , AVSM and Bar a senior Army officer and commanding-in-chief of Western Command was the Chief guest of the day. The parents also joined the students to make it a success.
The contingents of the four houses marched proudly giving a salute to the guest of the day. The Shemrock Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest followed by an oath taking ceremony along with the house captains and the sports leaders. The torch was illuminated by the sports captain Japneet Singh which was carried by the achievers in sports on the ground.
Nehal an athlete Yash Harish a Taekwondo player, Disha the swimming star of Shemrock were the torch bearers who made the school proud with their achievements. Heats for different races and some events like long jump and shot put etc. were organised on the first day. The athletic meet will conclude on 11th nov with a cultural bonanza of events and the final rounds of all the events.
While speaking at the moment, Chairman, A S Bajwa Said that on such platforms Students get a chance to present their talents and skills which are necessary for holistic development.
