NewZNew (Chandigarh) : At various places in Chandigarh thousands of Nirankari followers including children and women participated in cleanliness drive which started at 8 am and ended at 11 am. Tomorrow on 23rd February, 61st birthday of Baba Hardev Singh ji is being celebrated in the form of Guru Puja Diwas across the world by Nirankari devotees. On this occasion, cleanliness & tree plantation drive was undertaken today in entire India as per directions of Nirankari Baba ji. In Chandigarh also, this campaign was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm.
Sh S. S. Banga, Mukhi-Sector 15 area, briefed that entire residential area of Punjab University was cleaned today. Vice Chancellor, Sh Grover & area councilor Sh Sarv Joshi ji contributed immensely in the campaign. On this occasion, Sh Sarv Joshi ji said that block A & B of the area was having heaps of garbage since last 40-50 years which was cleaned today by Nirankari devotees & further tree plantation shall be carried out in this area. Snt Jogi Ji-Member Incharge, Sant Nirankari Mandal thanked Vice Chancellor, Sh Grover, officers & area councilor Sh Sarv Joshi ji. Sh Banga ji also told that devotees of the area also cleaned dispensaries, government schools of etc Dhanas, New Colony Dhanas, Kansal, Mullanpur & Nayagaon.
Sh Tarsem Singh ji, Mukhi-Sector 40 area briefed that devotees of the area cleaned Parks, Anganvadi, market, dispensary, public toilets; Maloya market; market & parks of Sector-56; parks & public toilets of sector-39; schools & dispensaries of Dadumajra.
Sh ShamSunder ji, Mukhi-Sector 45 area briefed that devotees of the area cleaned Burail market & dispensary, school; roads, parks & community center of sector 49 area.
Similarly devotees of area cleaned roads, community centers, parks, area near Nirankari Bhawan & streets in Sector 30/20 area; Phase-1 & 2 of Ramdarbar area; Behlana; Raipur Khurd and Daruya. Devotees of colony number-4 area also cleaned the colony area.
On this occasion former Member of Parliament, Sh Satpal Jain & area councilor also participated & thanked Baba Hardev Singh Ji for launching this cleanliness campaign across India.
Children were carrying different mottos like “Nar Sewa Narayan Pooja”, “Dharam Jodta Hai Torta Nahi”, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”, “Save Trees save World”, “Green city clean city” and “Plant Trees for the Better universe Tomorrow” etc.
In addition to cleanliness drive, tree plantation was also undertaken in Park near Kendriya Vidhyalya school of Sector-47, which was presided by Smt Jogi ji- Member Incharge, Sant Nirankari Mandal. On this occasion, Sh B. S. Cheema ji-Zonal Incharge said that these trees are planted with spiritual feelings, hence trees planted on this occasion shall be very useful for the residents in near future & they shall be benefitted.
On the auspicious occasion of Birthday of H. H. Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj which is being celebrated as Guru Puja Diwas, Sh. Mohinder Singh Sanyojak recalling the words of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj said “Our earth is like a Global Village and a joint house. As such cleanliness of earth is the cleanliness of our own house.” Regarding pollution, Baba Ji says, “Whether inner or outer, pollution is always harmful.” He always exhorts to make God dwell in our hearts so that we are protected from doing evil deeds and serve the humanity selflessly. Emphasizing the need for social welfare awareness, Baba Ji highlights Mission’s involvement in the Environment Conservation activities.
In this ‘Safai Abhiyan’ Mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, all Councilors and Commissioner have fully co-operated for which all were thanked by Shri Mohinder Singh.
Sh. Singh further said that Nirankari Mission is serving the society at large all over the country in the medical field, by organizing voluntary Blood Donation Camps, providing relief during earthquakes, and during Tsunami disaster, Tailoring and Embroidery centers, Libraries, Mass marriages etc. Today the “Guru Pooja Divas” is being celebrated all over the world including local Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan Chandigarh. All the Nirankari Saints will imbibe Satguru Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj’s teachings of love and service for the humanity which are essentially linked with the knowledge of Fatherhood of God.
