newznew (Chandigarh) : Having achieved the PM’s banner, best NCC Directorate and many more  awards,  the NCC contingent returned today at NCC Academy, Ropar, where a warm welcome and  felicitation ceremony  to honour the winning cadets of Republic Day Contingent of NCC Directorate PHHP&C was held.  The function was chaired by ADG Maj Gen Balbir Singh.

Felicitations began with award giving ceremony to the individual cadets where Group Commanders of the four States rewarded and congratulated them. During the function, 04 Best  Cadets and other winning cadets of various trophies like Best Overall Cadet ; Senior Division, Best Overall Cadet ; Junior Division, Gold medalist of the Horse Show, Line Area, Flag Area and the Guard of Honour, were presented  ADG certification of appreciation and a special memento by Maj Gen Balbir Singh. Gen Singh interacted with the cadets and joined for a group photograph during the ceremony .

While addressing the cadets, Gen Balbir Singh focused on need of youth development in Nation building. He emphasised to take focused approach towards training through effective leadership and camaraderie. He also urged the cadets to maintain the highest standard set in last three years and to continue it for the next year as well.
