NewZNew (Chandigarh) : A dynamic & pretty Fashion Curator, Sahiba Brar, held a formal preview for media of her unique ‘Concept Lifestyle Store’- Raya, located in the quaint inner market of Sector 7 C, Chandigarh. Says Ms. Sahiba Brar, the young brain behind the outlet, which has been given an attractive Vintage European feel purely in white and gold, “During my travels in India & abroad i saw outlets that boasted of beautiful interiors & collections of the best pieces that top designers of the country & the World have to offer. The idea of ‘Raya’ came along and we identified a need in the Chandigarh market for a ‘Concept store’ that houses multi designer Pret wear and Occasion wear and not just wedding wear.”
The designer wear ensemble at Raya is from stables of well-known couturiers like Tarun Tahiliani, Kavita Bharti, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Manish Arora, Namrata Joshipura, Pankaj & Nidhi, Payal Singhal, Rimple & Harpreet Narula among others. The latest addition at Raya is Samant Chauhan who had an award winning show at the Singapore fashion week in 2007, followed by a milestone participation in the London fashion week. In 2008, he experienced his highest when he presented his SS’09 collection as a solo show at carousel Du Louvre, Paris. Samant is showcasing his AW ’15 collection ‘Rajputana Rajkumari’ at Raya.
“My native place is Bhagalpur & i am a strong believer in the versatility of Bhagalpur weaving techniques and skilled craftsmanship. I give credit to the Bhagalpur craftsmen for my ever evolving and innovative fabrics. I am debuting in Chandigarh with my AW 15 ‘Rajputana Kumari’ showcase & my designer wear will be available at Raya.”
Adds Sahiba, “Every piece of apparel, accessory or home décor is personally and very carefully selected directly from the Designers either from the various Fashion weeks or from their workshops. Also there is only one piece per style so that whatever our customer picks from here is special & unique. Each season is painstakingly pieced together by keeping collections that are ‘On trend’. We endeavour to make our store a hub of all things beautiful and exciting.”
Designers already on board with ‘Raya’ for the coming seasons are Anamika Khanna, Bodice, Eka, and Rajesh Pratap Singh among others. There is great brand mix of top Fashion Accessories also. Some names that the outlet boasts of are Suhani Pittie, Prerto, and Valliyan by Nitya. The Home Décor range includes handpicked pieces from various interior exhibitions across India and abroad.
