OK PLAY’S FORAY INTO THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY

LAUNCH/MARKETING PLANS
Sharing the marketing plans Mr. Handa said “In the initial phase, OK Play will simultaneously launch their E-Rickshaws in North and South India. With a production capacity of3,00,000 E-Rickshaws per year, OK Play has existing two manufacturing units – One at Sohna (Haryana) to cater to North Indian market and the other in Ranipet (Tamil Nadu) to cater to South Indian market.”
Talking of the market size, Mr Handa said, “ By conservative estimates, there are over 10 million cycle rickshaws and 7.5 million Auto – Rickshaws in the country, which could potentially be replaced over a period of time. Thus, there is a huge market opportunity, which theoretically could run into hundreds of thousands of crores.”
Insurance Cover:
OK Play has tied-up with an Insurance Company of National Repute to provide insurance cover to all our new eRickshaws on Pan India basis.
OK Play has lined up an extensive network of garages for repairs and service of eRickshaws. Their target is to get a garage for erickshaw within 5 Kms of break-down zone so that eRickshaw owners do not pay for vehicle toeing. These Garages shall also be used for over night charging of the eRickshaws.
Mr Handa thanked the current government and specially Mr Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport, for bringing in place a progressive policy regime which has encouraged ‘Make in India’ initiative while promoting intelligent green transport solutions. It may be known that to promote eco-friendly E-Rickshaw, the Central government recently made changes in MV Act and considerably eased the norm for getting driver license for E-vehicles.
“I express my heartfelt appreciation to the government and in particular Mr Gadkari for providing a progressive policy regime which is good not only for the environment but also for the country,” said Mr Handa.
The light, comfortable and aesthetically designed E-Raaja would provide safe, affordable, convenient, pollution free transport solution and last-mile connectivity to the commuters, a real blessing for the transport woes in the country, especially in large metros like Delhi which are struggling with dangerous level of vehicular pollution.
With a capacity of carrying over four hundred kilograms, the ‘E-Raaja’ can easily accommodate four people in addition to the driver, making the commute economical. The eco-friendly nature and efficiency makes the battery-operated vehicles ideal for transporting commuters to their doorstep from the public transport terminals.
The air and noise pollution- free vehicles are also ideal for use as tourist vehicles near protected heritage sites. They would not only provide ease entry and exit through the narrow lanes and crowded areas, but also add an element of liveliness with their vibrant colours and striking design.
