King’s College India is proud to welcome Dr. Nicholas Duggan as he begins his term as Headmaster starting January 2018. King’s College in India is the first British boarding and day school, which started operations in 2016 on a 21-acre campus near Rohtak. The school follows the Cambridge curriculum and mirrors the education practices of its parent school, King’s College Taunton UK. This is an attempt to provide British quality education for students of ages from 3 to 18 years without having to leave the country.

Dr. Duggan is a highly qualified academic and an experienced international Headmaster. He is an accomplished musician, with a Graduate Diploma in Music and a Licentiate from Trinity College, London. He has two Masters degrees, one in English and one in Educational Leadership and Management. He has a PhD in Music from Bangor University in Wales and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.

Dr. Duggan’s teaching career has spanned a number of schools in different parts of the world. He taught in Kenya and Thailand before joining the British Army as a musician with the Irish Guards. He then went back into the world of education and held senior positions at schools in Kuwait, Thailand and Italy. In 2009 Dr. Duggan became the Founding Principal of the Satit Prasarnmit International School in Bangkok. More recently, Dr. Duggan has been Secondary School Principal of the Yew Chung International School in Beijing and Head Teacher of St George’s British School in Malaga, Spain.

On his appointment, Dr. Duggan commented, “I am looking forward to getting to know and interact with the excellent staff and students of King’s College India. I believe it is a privilege to be able to serve in this great country and look forward to a very exciting future.”

As part of his familiarization tour, Dr Nick Duggan will be travelling extensively across India and other countries from where there are admission enquiries for King’s College India. Besides places like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Raipur, Jaipur and Jammu, he will also be visiting Kathmandu, Bangkok, Dhaka and Dubai. During the visits, he will engage with parents, students and other stakeholders to understand their aspirations and expectations from a world class school.

The Chairman of the Board, King’s College India Mr Anshul Kumar, said: “On behalf of all the students and staff of King’s College India, I welcome Dr. Duggan to our family. He is an inspiring leader with a wealth of experience in pastoral and academic matters. I look forward to working with him”  Dr. Duggan will be joining King’s College, India, along with his wife Rattana and seven-year-old son Dylan. The staff, parents and pupils of both King’s College, India and King’s College, Taunton wish them every happiness and success in their new Indian home.
