ADDITIONAL DEPUTY COMMISSIONER HOLDS MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF POLITICAL PARTIES
NewZNew (Bathinda) : The Punjab State Election Commission has issued notification to hold elections of Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) on Feb 22.
Giving this information here today the additional deputy commissioner (development) -cum-additional election officer Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma stated that as per the instructions of election commission from February 6 to February 11 the candidates can submit their nomination forms to concerned Returning Officers (RO) from 11 am to 3 pm.
Addressing a meeting of representatives of various political parties convened today additional deputy commissioner (development)-cum-additional election officer Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the concerned ROs would conduct the verification of nominations received on Feb 12 till 11 am. On Feb 13 till 3 pm, the nominations could be withdrawn and on the same day after 3 pm, the commission would allot election symbols to remaining candidates in fray.
For the 50 wards of Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) 176 polling stations have been carved out. The polling would be conducted in February 22 from 8 am to 4 pm. Thereafter the electronic voting machines (EVMs) would be stored at Government Polytechnic College and the counting would be conducted on February 26.
He added that for the wards number 1 to 17, the District Revenue Officer Mr Jashanjit Singh (9888048333) has been appointed as the returning officer, while BDA SDO Mr Parminder would be the assistant returning officer.
Similarly, for the wards number 18 to 35 the SDM Bathinda Mr Damanjit Singh Maan (9988000082) would be the returning officer, while XEN Mr KK Singla would be the assistant returning officer. For the remaining wards number 36 to 50, the AETC Mr Jaskaran Singh Brar (9872910042) would be the returning officer, while SDO (irrigation) Mr Haqam Singh Bhattal would be the assistant returning officer.
The district revenue officer would take nominations for wards 1 to 17 in room number 208 of the District Administrative Complex (DAC), SDM Bathinda would take nominations for wards 18 to 35 in room number 309 and the AETC Bathinda would take nominations for wards 36 to 50 in room number 358 in DAC.
The set of nomination forms would be available at the office of deputy commissioner (development)-cum-additional election officer at 10:30 am on February 7.
