NewZNew (Panchkula) : Big FM took on GBP in the finals of the Corporate Super League T 20 Cricket Tourney. The match was played out at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula. Big FM won the toss and elected to bat first. Big FM made 140 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. RJ Abhimanyu shone with the bat by scoring 61 runs, Vaibhav was another major contributor with his 27 runs. Ranjeet took 4 wickets while Harkeerat took 2 wickets Kunal and Avi took 1 wicket each for GBP.
GBP’s team won the match by 8 wickets as their batsmen made 142 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.4 overs. Ayush made a quick fire 67 runs. Harkeerat scored 28 runs and Jatinder made 20 runs. Ayush from GBP was declared Man of the Match and Harkeerat again from GBP was adjudged Man of the Series for scoring 162 runs and taking 11 wickets in the tourney.
It is noteworthy that Big FM beat ATS in the semi-final to enter the finals and GBP defeated Max Hospital in the other semi-final to set up its final berth. In all 8 teams took part in the tourney. Apart from the above teams the others were Indus Towers, Maruti Suzuki, Kotak Securities & Central Bank of India. CSL T 20 was organized by The Perfection Events in Association with Mumbai based D Craft Entertainment & Events.
“The idea behind holding this tournament was to give a break to Senior Corporate Executives from their hectic work schedule by engaging in a healthy, competitive sporting activity.” Said Adesh Khanna of The Perfection Events & Entertainment.
The winning team was given a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while the Runner Up team was handed out Rs 25000 as cash prize.
