The allocation status can be checked by entering the 6-digit application form number. Education Department had fixed 11 am as the time for publication of 11th admission merit list. Earlier, the vacancy status across Junior Colleges/ Higher Secondary Schools were updated so that the students could check the availability of seats in their desired Junior colleges. Almost 60 percent seats in top Junior Colleges across the region were reported to be filled in the first round of seat allocation, the prime reason being the change in admission process by the Education Department.
For admissions in the academic year 2017-18, the students had to mention maximum 10 choices in the order of preference and in case the seat is allotted, he/ she had to take admission to the allotted college/ course within the specified time duration. Last year, the number of choices to be filled were 35, while the reduction in the number of choices has been done so as to fill maximum seats which could not be achieved last year.
The time of publication of 11th admission list is 5 pm, but the Mumbai region FYJC merit list of 2nd round has been declared in the morning itself. The other region may also do so, but as it was witnessed in the publication of 1st merit list, the declaration of Second Round allocation may also get delayed.
The number of seats in top colleges are already less, plus most of them have been filled in the 1st round of allocation. The students are hopeful that the cut-offs in the second list will decrease and they will be able to get admission in their preferred college. If the cut-off does not decreases for top colleges, it is feared that many may loose their desired seat as all the seats will be filled in this round only.
Mumbai region students can check 11th admission list at region’s website mumbai.11thadmission.net, while other regions’ students will have to wait for some more time. We’re keeping close watch on the developments and will update the status of declaration of FYJC merit list here for other regions, namely, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati and Aurangabad.
