NewZNew (New Chandigarh) : It is festival time and needless to say it is time for enjoyment and fun. At Omaxe New Chandigarh, this weekend there was no dearth of fun and frolic. The occasion was Dandiya performance by a renowned troupe from Gujarat, which enthralled a crowd of more than 5,000 people at Omaxe New Chandigarh. With festive spirit at its peak and being the beginning of the weekend, the crowd, both young and old, were is full mood to enjoy. The fervor of it was on full display when many of them took Dandiya stick in their hand and took to the dance floor. The resultant was a recreation of a moment not quite heard of in the recent memories of Chandigarh.
The enthusiasm was so much palpable that even children got hooked to it. The performance by 54- member troupe from Surat in Gujarat was appreciated by one and all. The 3-day Mahotsav is likely to attract close to 15,000 people.
But Dandiya was not the only crowd puller and entertainer. Live performance by Preetika Bhasin of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame as well as by Rajan and Price of Itehad mesmerized everyone. With several entertainment options especially for women and children like Tattoo maker, Bouncy and Several Cartoon characters among others – the people who had gathered had a wonderful day in the township.
