NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Sh. Vijay Kumar Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh today inaugurated Community Centre at sector 26, Chandigarh in presence of Sh. Naresh Kumar, area councilor.
The ground floor consisting of Hall, Chowkidar room, reception room, lobby, toilet blocks for gents & ladies; 1st floor consisting of lobby, six rooms, toilet blocks for gents and ladies and a open terrace have be extended at the cost of Rs. 30 lacs. The fund for the renovation has been provided under the Ward Development Fund of the area councilor.
The Adviser appreciated the engineering department of MC for their speedy work to provide this community centre within two months only. He said that he inspected the area on August 4 this year and instructed the engineering department to renovate the ruined building in the site.
He said that with the provision of this community centre local residents will have now option to organize their family function and ceremonies here at a low cost. Ha also asked the MC to fix economical rates for organizing functions by the local residents in the community centre. He said that online booking of this community centre will be started very soon.
stressing upon the need for physical fitness, he asked the MC officials for proper provision of some indoor sports activities, gymnasium, reading room for children and library also.
